1955-57 GM A5 Flanged Custom Compressor Rebuilding Service

Custom rebuilding service of your 1955-57 Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac & Chevy A/C A5 Compressor & Clutch. (Excludes clutch and other compressor mounted parts.)

Custom rebuild of your original A5 Flanged compressor & clutch core. Rebuild consists of initial test to determine the core is serviceable*, following by stripping exterior surfaces to bare metal and dismantling. Compressor gut pack, oil pump gears and valve plates are cleaned, inspected and reinstalled. The original shaft seal is rebuilt & reinstalled. A full 11oz. oil charge is added and the compressor is pressure tested for leaks with Nitrogen at 250 psi. The clutch bearing, clutch disks, clutch hub and various related pieces are cleaned, inspected, calibrated & reassembled on the compressor**. Complete unit is performance tested at 1800 rpm's and painted. A new "Caution" decal is installed and the compressor is stamped with the "OK FINAL TEST" stamp.

* NOTE 1 – Initial serviceable diagnosis of the compressor is not a guarantee that rebuilding services can be completed. Additional fees apply if all or part of the core, including the shaft seal, requires replacing. If we cannot complete the reconditioning service, you will not be charged for service on the compressor to that point.

** NOTE 2 – Bearing replacement or clutch hub machining is available at an additional cost.
